Logline:

Isaac, a young leader of one of the many child Resistance cells in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam faces revolt at the hands of a 15-year-old girl, Isa. What price will her ambition be?

Synopsis:

In a war-torn landscape dominated by fear and betrayal, teenage Isa emerges as a fierce and unyielding force within a child Resistance cell fighting against Nazi occupation. Having personally faced the horrors inflicted by Nazis, and inflicted some revenge of her own on them, Isa believes she is better suited to lead, rather than Isaac, the current leader, who is someone younger and more cautious.

However, her leadership ambitions are clouded by a deeply disturbing hatred—not only toward Nazis but also Jews—an internal contradiction that blinds her to the harm she causes. Isa’s ruthless quest for power fractures the group’s unity, forcing an older partisan, that she has previously recruited, into killing her, when she reveals her true anti-Semitic colours, killing one member, driving another to suicide, and attempting to murder Isaac. Against all odds, Isaac survives, setting the stage for a resolution in a resistance cell fractured by ambition, prejudice, and the devastating cost of betrayal.
